Change Manager

The Change Manager is primarily responsible for working with our clients on creating and implementing change management approaches and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance while applying GP Strategies’ change management methodology. Our change managers also partner with clients to ensure increased benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of business results and outcomes.


This role also works to grow and sustain the change management practice by delivering excellent work, maintaining referenceable clients, and growing new and existing accounts.


This role partners with other GP Strategies team members and together ensure client engagements meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides full lifecycle change management support using a structured methodology from intake, assessment, and facilitation and execution of change management and adoption plan through reinforcement including:
    • Complete change management assessments
    • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics
    • Identify and manage anticipated resistance
    • Consult and coach project teams
    • Support and engage senior leaders
    • Coach managers and supervisors
    • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
    • Coordinate efforts with other specialists
    • Integrate change management activities into project plan
    • Evaluate and ensure user readiness
    • Track and report issues
    • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Support communications efforts: design, development, delivery and management of communications.
  • Serve as the change manager against specific assigned initiatives. May provide coaching and oversight to other GP Strategies consultants.
  • Develops comprehensive understanding of the business strategy and goals of client engagements to ensure an appropriate change strategy is developed and implemented.
  • Institutes the means for measuring, reporting, and assessing change management effectiveness for specific supported programs and looks across a portfolio of stakeholder impacts.
  • This role seeks opportunities to grow and sustain the change management practice.
  • Seeks knowledge of current best practices in the industry and finds ways to innovate.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Organization Development, Change Leadership, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Communications or related field. 
  • 5+ years of direct change management experience from internal or external consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to create strategies to influence senior business leaders in sponsoring and leading change management
  • Demonstrated understanding of personal and organizational change processes
  • Demonstrated skills related to leading organizational change management
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, training, organization, and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative environment


  • Master’s Degree
  • Prosci or other change methodology certification
