Chief Information Officer Job Description 

About the role

We are searching for an experienced and dedicated CIO (Chief Information Officer) to supervise the use of Information Technology (IT) across Learning Technologies Group and its businesses. 

To be successful, you will be highly analytical, professional, and possess excellent organizational skills. The chosen candidate will develop, evaluate and apply Information Technology strategies to our operations to improve group development and performance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to improve the efficiency and efficacy of business technology across the group. 
  • Identify, plan and execute the implementation of new technologies and programmes of change. 
  • Define and manage the IT Budget, track spending and ensure high value and return on investment. 
  • Ensure the group’s people, data and systems remain secure by keeping up to date on the latest cyber security threats and finds ways to guard against them on an organisation-wide scale. 
  • Create standards, procedures, and policies across the enterprise to mature technology best practises and data privacy compliance 
  • Coach and develop members of the IT teams, particularly leaders. 
  • Develop and implement resourcing plans that service and support a global group of businesses, with a mix of local and global, insource and outsource. 
  • Examine the group's operations and how technology works within it. 
  • Design, implement and maintain controls that align to client contractual requirements. 
  • Communicate with other executive members to make sure all parts of the group use technology in the best ways possible. 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Technology leadership. 
  • Experience managing a global technology infrastructure. 
  • A strong track-record of growing and maturing IT functions to align with a growing group of businesses. 
  • Proven experience in acquisitions and subsequent integrations. 
  • In-depth knowledge of solution selection, implementation and management processes. 
  • A strong strategic and business mindset with superb problem-solving skills and commercial acumen. 
  • Outstanding organizational, communication and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent understanding of modern information system technologies including SaaS models. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the current and up-and-coming trends in the IT field.
