Credit Controller - Bredbury, Stockport, Greater Manchester

At GP Strategies we are actively seeking a Credit Controller with excellent communication skills and an individual, with a hands on, industrious work ethic.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

The role

 

Credit Controller

 

Based at the Company’s European Corporate Services Centre in Bredbury, UK, will be responsible for the accurate and timely collection of outstanding Invoices to the company and plays a vital role in the cash-flow of the organisation. Able to investigate and resolve queries within a timely manner. To use their own initiative and to thinks things through with a logical approach.

In this hands-on role you will support the Credit Manager on a wide range of UK, EU, and international credit control matters.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

 

- Chase outstanding debt by telephone and email, whilst maintaining a good working relationship with clients.

- Ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner, within the agreed payment terms.

- Maintain accurate and up to date account receivable records of all chasing activity.

-  Prepare and distribute debtor statements.

-  Respond within a timely manner to any customer complaints or enquiries written or verbally.

-  Complete daily banking with remittance’s for cashflow dept.

-  Keep ledgers up to date and with accurate clear detail.

-  Ensure payment terms are captured and recorded on accounting system to measure DSO.

-  Liaise with operations and corporate services department to solve enquires in a prompt and timely manner and escalate where required.

- To communicate with internal and external agencies, staff, customers, management and peers in a manner appropriate to your position at all times and act in accordance with your confidentiality agreement with the company at all times.

-To ensure that the Equal Opportunity, Health and Safety and Quality Procedures are adhered to within your area of responsibility and that any non-compliance is reported to the appropriate level of Management.

-To ensure that the corporate values of the Company are actively promoted and implemented at all times.

-To support a culture that promotes teamwork and discourages divisiveness at all organisational levels.

About You

 

-Good standard of secondary education.

-NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration.

-3 years minimum expertise in high-end credit control dealing with high volume of clients

-Good communication skills verbal/written English plus used to communicating via portal/email

-Stakeholder management

-Good Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills (be able to understand spreadsheet, macros, pivot table (intermediate/advanced level)

-Numerate. 

-ICM Credit Control Level 2 or 3 (desirable)

-Organised and methodical individual, with the ability to plan and organise work effectively, delivering to deadlines.

-Industrious work ethic and can-do attitude.

-Comfortable working independently when required, across functions.
