Technical Marketing Specialist

GP Strategies is sourcing for a Technical Marketing Specialist to support the Engineering & Technical Services (E&TS) Practice, responsible for delivering technical services, learning solutions and engineering services across various industries. The ideal candidate must have experience in marketing technical products and/or services and excel at working in a creative team environment.  The individual must be able to relate directly with technically complex services and assist the team in creating results oriented marketing support to drive organic growth.  The individual should be able to develop solid marketing campaigns which result in successful lead generation.  
The optimal candidate will possess the ability to understand and interface with the technically complex solutions that are offered and work collaboratively with our teams to drive multiple marketing support activities including but not limited to: tradeshow support, social media, collateral design and development, email marketing campaigns, product marketing campaigns, webinars and a host of other related marketing activities.
This position is not limited to Amherst, NY. Other locations may include: Tampa, FL; Houston, TX; Troy, MI; Columbia, MD
  • Ability to innovate and develop creative B2B marketing campaigns that result in qualified lead generation.
  • Ability to understand technical content and simplify it to create effective marketing messages that resonate with target audiences.
  • Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, SEO, digital advertising, email marketing).
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, email, webinars, videos etc.).
  • Manage the lifecycle of a marketing campaign from conception to completion.
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with marketing, sales and operations teams to drive marketing activities to completion.
  • Support CRM System Activities (customer resource management).
  • Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned.
  • Support both product-based marketing and services-based marketing campaigns and drive optimization of each campaign based on their unique needs.


Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA in marketing, business, communications or equivalent. Technical degree also strongly considered due to the desired technical marketing expertise
  • Proven experience as a marketing specialist or similar in a technical field or supporting technical products/services marketing.
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in lead generation campaigns
  • Understanding of content marketing
  • B2B marketing expertise – selling both services and products
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.)
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (email marketing/automation) and applications (web analytics, Google Adwords etc.). Strong PowerPoint skills a plus.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of HTML and WordPress preferred
  • Experience working with a CRM System preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills both oral and written
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a face-paced environment
