Principal Consultant

Job Summary

The role of a Principal Consultant is to build great client relationships by leading client engagements and drive business development with new and existing clients.
Aligned to our Leadership Standard, Principal Consultants are additionally responsible for:
  • Shape our Vision as part of our future leadership team
  • Coach and mentor  Consultants, Technology Implementation Consultants and Client Service teams to develop our talent as the global leader in business execution
  • Execute flawlessly, lead change & create a high performance culture
  • Translate client needs into quality business execution solutions to transform financial, leadership and organizational performance
    Main Accountabilities
  • Recognized internally and by clients as an emerging leader in business execution theory and practice
  • Develops and motivates a high performing team of business execution and client service professionals
  • Accountable for leading client engagements and relationships
    Business Development
  • Generates at least $500k sales annually in client revenue from new and existing clients
  • Supports Partners to develop a portfolio of client relationships
  • Accountable for the delivery  personal Mission and Measures of Success
  • Paid utilization in excess of 12 days per month
  • Leads the development of proposals and supports Partners in bid management process to win high value engagements
    Market Maker  
  • Identifies trends to exploit the growth of the business execution market
  • Monitors regional competitor activity to maintain competitive advantage
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge in at least two sectors and expertise in a primary management function (Strategy, Marketing, Distribution, Finance, HR)
  • Builds capacity and capability to develop new and existing markets for MR
  • Forms & leverages external networks to drive awareness of MR brand
    Client Development      
  • Develops creative business execution solutions to address complex client issues
  • Supports the development of new client relationships & strengthens existing client networks
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and understanding of the end to end MR Business Execution operating system
  • Promotes the benefits and use of performance management technology as an enabler of Mission Leadership to drive performance
  • Regarded as a trusted advisor by Executive level clients  for his/her leadership, intellect and passion
    Firm Builder      
  • Prioritizes the long term health of the business
  • Active involvement supporting Product development and innovation initiatives and external recruiting and talent development


Required Experience & Skills


  • Degree level or equivalent - Advanced degree (preferably MBA) is an advantage
  • 10+ years of experience, including advanced leadership or senior professional role
  • Fluency in English - Fluency in a second language is preferred
  • Ability to leverage technology with strong PC skills
  • Ability to travel up to 100% (domestic and international)

  • Proven track record in business development successfully selling complex business solutions at C level
  • Previous military leadership experience highly desirable
