We are looking for Engineering Capital Project Managers to work within a friendly and supportive team of project professionals.

 

Working for Lorien Engineering, an industry leader, with a base in the Hygienic industries of Food, Pharmaceutical with a recent growth into other ecommerce and industrial sectors. We are a division of GP Strategies a global services delivery business.

 

We are unique in that all of our project engineers are staff, lead to a co-operative and supportive working environment, whilst building skills and knowledge that is easily and readily shared.

 

We provide EPCM - engineering design (Civils, Building, Electrical & Process), project management, packaging technical consulting and safety compliance services to manufacturing companies across the Food, Drink, Brewing, Logistics, Life Sciences, Industrial Manufacturing, Renewable Energy & Waste sectors.

 

Our portfolio of clients and projects comprise many of the names you would associate with some of the best global high street and ecommerce brands. In addition we are involved in many interesting, innovative and diverse projects. Projects involve leading and coordinating design teams from Front End Feasibility / Consultancy studies through to Project Implementation. The capital range of these projects can be anything from a few thousand to >£30mill.


About The Role

 

Coming into this role with project experience with a construction background, the Project Manager will be expected to be able to take a brief from the Client and control the scope of the delivery.

 

Manage and coordinate the design disciplines in house with the associated cost control and reporting within the  capital projects. 

 

A key role is ensuring that the appropriate level of project governance is applied for the risks that the projects may incur.

 

What Will You Do?

Leading and coordinating design teams from Front End Feasibility/Consultancy studies through to Project Implementation to meet client’s capex plans

Taking briefs from the client, translating these into well-managed design and construction projects along the EPCM guidelines, controlling the scope of delivery from initial conception through to final handover

Managing and coordinating the design disciplines in house with the associated cost control and reporting within the capital projects

Ensuring that the appropriate level of project governance is applied to risk management, interfacing between technical, operational and senior management work streams

Presenting and influencing at board level, clearly communicating the project plans, milestones and risks, whilst providing advice and guidance on how to manage these.

Managing project profitability and control of capital expenditure

Delivering on agreed project objectives within budget and to a set deadline

Managing the issuing of final documentation and reporting

Contributing to and working to company QA system as well as client systems and procedures

Ensuring compliance with legislation including CDM, Machinery Directive and PUWER

Assisting in the development of the project team, including the mentoring of design engineers

 

What Will You Have?

 

Ideally degree educated in Civil or Structural engineering

A proven track record in Technical Project Manager and the ability to understand complex technical problems and to develop solutions

Worked on a number of multi-disciplined construction projects

Strong strategic and business management experience

Solid design and operations experience

Proven leadership experience

Experience of presenting at board level

Flexibility to travel extensively and to stay away from home
