An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lorien Engineering and lead the collaborative delivery of project designs within the building design department.


About Us

Lorien’s building design team in Burton is a centre of excellence for the design of hygienic buildings in the food, brewing, drinks, life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors. We deliver services to our clients which include: master planning, feasibility studies, outline design and detailed design.  We work with key private sector clients in the UK, including PepsiCo, Molson Coors and Unilever.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who can:

· Play a leading role in overseeing the implementation of BIM processes for the local office, including training of staff.

· Coordinate, review and manage CAD and BIM deliverables for multiple projects to completion and within budget.

· Undertake the role of Senior Designer using Revit, working with our Architectural Technicians and Engineers on developing designs

· Work with our team leader to provide BIM/CAD support throughout the project delivery process.

· Undertake CAD duties unsupervised, whilst managing other CAD staff

· Advise and mentor Trainee Technicians

About You:

We are seeking an experienced construction industry professional who:

· Has a keen interest in Building Design and will, ideally, demonstrate experience of 3D modelling and AutoCAD drawing production for traditional building design projects. Good written and verbal communication skills are vital.

· Holds an HNC (or equivalent) in a building related subject (architectural technology, civil/structural engineering, building design)

· Has extensive experience in the consulting industry including experience delivering Building Design using AutoCAD Revit and Navisworks

· Has demonstrable ability to manage small CAD team and balance resourcing requirements to support the design team

· Is motivated to train and guide our Apprentices and Graduate Engineers

· Has flexibility to travel internationally, as and when required

· Holds a driving Licence and is a car owner

· Is interested in all aspects of architecture and construction technology from concept to detail design.

· Can demonstrate a good working knowledge of UK building regulations
