SENIOR INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER/ LEARNING ARCHITECT - MUST BE FLUENT IN JAPANESE

SUMMARY: The Senior Instructional Designer will serve as a learning architect and consult with client stakeholders to ensure business requirements are clearly defined, as well as apply formalized educational processes to design various forms of learning or other indicated interventions to produce the desired business impact.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS include the following:
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Japanese
• Have at least 2 years of experience working with a Japan-based company
• Ability to regularly work during the standard Japan Standard Time (UTC/ GMT time zone) business hours
• Professional qualification or Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or field
• 10+ years of experience in the Learning & Development industry or Human Performance Improvement field
• Proficiency with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, WebEx, Lync and SharePoint
• Interdisciplinary business knowledge and cross-cultural competency

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS include the following:
• Master’s Degree in a related discipline or field
• Experience supporting clients/ working in the Insurance industry
• Systems thinking and understanding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technology quickly
• Demonstrated ability to be successful in ambiguous environments
• Ability to work independently with less supervision
• Strategic thinking/problem solving skills
• Demonstrated initiative and commitment for results and the ability to set priorities
• Resilient and able to adapt to a fast and dynamic work environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Building trusted relationships with business stakeholders to understand relevant business issues and align on intended learning outcomes.
• Develop and proposed learning strategies and recommend other non-training interventions.
• Incorporates methods and requirements of instructional systems such as Instructional Systems Development (ISD), Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), or Training Systems Development (TSD) process.
• Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
• Liaise with Subject Matter Experts to drive accurate content.
• Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
• Designs and develops exams to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
• Evaluate and report on progress and effectiveness to requirements of all development trainings through use of clearly defined metrics
• To communicate with internal and external agencies, staff, customers, management and peers in a manner appropriate to your position at all times.
• To make decisions and implement actions, involving customers, employees, suppliers, partners and peers, which are in accordance with the values of the Company.
