Experienced Contracts Paralegal/Junior Contracts Attorney 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide legal consultation on a wide range of issues. 
  • Perform legal research in support of internal and external projects. 
  • Prepare legal documents, including contracts, assignments, and others. 
  • Track contract assignments and consents. 
  • Modify legal documents as directed. 
  • Search, confirm, and review files in SharePoint-housed folders containing contractual and other legal documentation. 
  • Reviews various types of contractual documentation for completeness, locating and identifying key phrases, terms, and verbiage. 
  • Records presence or absence of key information in various types of contractual documentation for further processing. 
  • Process data from contractual documents for further processing. 
  • Interfaces with GP Legal, Risk Management, and Business Units, as appropriate to perform assigned tasks. 
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and understand assignments. 

Qualifications: 

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (for junior attorney).
  • Admission to the state bar (for junior attorney). 
  • At least two (2) years of contracts experience required, government contracts preferred. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Possess a high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology.
  • Strong research abilities and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced high-volume environment. 

 

Essential Skills: 

  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts. 
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Familiarity with commercial and government contract provisions, such as FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc. 
  • Experience with web-browser and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.,), including navigation, search, sorting, filtering, etc.
